- Description: More surface passivation studies. I've figured out that the harder it is for a casein constituent to go into solution, the better it acts as a surface passivator. Plus, whole and alpha casein work great. Beta and kappa, not so much. Whole and alpha have motility at the center of the flow cell, beta and kappa has it only near the tape.

- Description: Looking at all the different casein solutions. I believe that at this time I was still putting casein in my motility solution. I do not do this anymore.

- Description: Studies with lipids. I will point out that the lipid surfaces do make microtubules stick similar to poly-L-lysine. But, the antifade is just rotten when using a lipid surface.

- Description: Using different cleaning methods to produce flow cells resulted in no motility. I believed the reason there was no motility was due to bad kinesin.

- Description: More thoughts on if you need to passivate both surfaces of a flow cell. Also, I observed what I called "clumping" of microtubules. In fact, these were Taxol crystals masquerading as microtubule clumps. I won't figure that out till later.

- Description: Question the arose from passivation with kappa casein and with lipids. The lipids don't work and the kappa casein does (sort of as I'll find out later).

- Description: Attempting different concentrations of rhodamine labeled tubulin for fluorescent GMA. Also, I found a webpage and paper that talks about casein in poop. This stemmed from Koch's comment about my heating of PEM to get whole casein to go into solution.

- Description: My Spin Coater 3000 didn't cut the mustard. So, we tried using the Fisher centrifuge to coat slips. We were able to do it but, not in a very effective manner.
