PVOH Films

  • Heated films to 120°C for 90 min
      Catalyst      Preheat Mass Dehydrated Mass
      H2SO4      0.42818 g 0.32884 g
      HCl      0.38868 g 0.33176 g
      H2SO4      0.44926 g 0.40110 g
  • Prepared maleic acid (MA) cross-linked films using same 3 acid catalysts
  • 0.50 g PVOH, 0.05 g MA, 2 drops acid, 3 mL water
  • air dry 3 days in fume hood
