Synthesizing AuNP Fibers

Objective To make a solution of AuNP/BSA protein fibers and to continue to take UV-vis data over time of 70 Au/BSA solution synthesized on 01/31/11. Description Make a solution with an Au/BSA mole ratio = 166 Combine 1 mL of 3.66 mM HAuCl4 and 1.27 mL of 0.0173 mM BSA in a test tube. Dilute to 10 mL with water. Place in oven at 80°C. Leave solutions in oven for 3.5 hr. Data Synthesized protein fibers: 70 ratio AuNP solution, week 5: The AuNP came out of solution. UV-vis data was taken of the clear solution. No absorbance was measured in the desired range. Notes
